Subject: Proposed changes to Australian Test Team selection process, as moved by NSW.

The motion will be discussed and put to the states to vote on at the ASDWA Annual General Meeting to be held at Dalby QLD, in September 2019. As this is a major proposed change, I believe it is important that each and every financial, full member of the TWSDA, has an opportunity to record their vote. The state delegates will then vote with the majority decision of this special general meeting.

Please be aware that if you want to have your vote you must attend this meeting in person. As noted in our by-laws, there are to be no proxy votes. Also, to form a quorum there must be at least 12 members present. Should a quorum not be formed on the day the TWSDA delegates will vote at the AGM to remain with the current status quo.

Details of the proposal:

Proposal is that there be three representatives from each state of Australia to compete in the Interstate Challenge at the Supreme Championships. The Ted Gaby Shield would stay the same, two highest combined scorers from each state would still win the Ted Gaby Shield… States do not necessarily have to send 3 representatives, if you can only send 2, they can still win the Interstate Challenge and represent their country. Reasons for this proposal… To give more workers a chance at representing and gain more experience at the higher level. 3 representatives from each state run over 4 rounds of 18 dogs, over 2 days, which gives 36 runs each day, which strengthens the competition Selects a better representative over 4 rounds Dogs selected would be more consistent over 4 rounds When the New Zealand team is visiting Australia, the Interstate Challenge is to be run prior to the Supreme Championship.

New Zealand team would not be able to see future test dogs. There would be no interference with the Test Series. No interference with the dogs crossing over eg. Working in the Supreme top 20, final 10, Interstate Challenge or the Test series. In a non Test year , run 2 rounds prior to the Supreme, then 2 rounds during the Supreme. We are currently running 36 Interstate runs at a Supreme and feel by running 72 runs, it would only add 1 day to the Supreme.
